The rocks are here. The guide wasn’t.
Rock Hunters Club is a community of boulderers who find, clean and climb Etna’s rocks and put them in a guide on your phone: location, photos, routes drawn on the picture, access status, who cleaned it. Every rock you add stays there for everyone.

One volcano. Four seasons of rock.
Basalt: rough, grippy, nothing like the granite or sandstone you know. In summer you climb high up, where it’s cool. From October to May, in the woods and the lower sectors. Etna has been a UNESCO site since 2013 and has a Park with its own rules: the guide tells you where you can go.

03 / How it works
Four things to do. All of them outside.
The app is there to remember. Everything else happens on the rock.

02Report a rock in ten seconds.
Photo, position, name. Finish the rest at home. A Senior Hunter checks it and the rock joins everyone’s guide, with your name next to it.
03Clean it. It counts as much as climbing.
Before and after photos, hours, bags carried out. Clean Points weigh the same as points for sends, and the first cleanup of a rock earns a bonus. You clean the line and the landing only, never protected plants.
04Log the send with a witness.
Whoever was there confirms it with a four-digit code. Harder routes need a video. Grades are proposed by the people who climb and certified by graders.
04 / Lines
Walk around the rock before you touch it.
The main rocks get photographed 80 to 200 times and rebuilt in 3D: you see the fractures, the footholds and the line drawn on the model, not just on a photo. This rock is a demonstration scan. The first Etna rocks in 3D are being processed.

05 / Points, leaderboards, prizes
Five scores. Cleaning is worth as much as sending.
Every point has a line in your ledger, with the rule that produced it. Each season the leaderboard restarts and partner prizes go to the top of every score.

Send Points
From 10 points for a 3 to 500 for an 8B. Flash ×1.5, first ascent ×2. With a witness it counts in full, alone 60%.
Clean Points
10 points per hour and 5 per bag carried out. The first cleanup of a rock: 100 more.
Hunt Points
50 when the rock you reported is verified. 150 when it’s published with a certified route.
Kommunity Points
Witnessing, spotting, inviting friends and hosting outings: the community grows when we look after each other. Challenges award points configured by admins.
Conduct
Starts at zero and stays there if you follow the ethics charter. It only drops after an incident confirmed by an admin, and it weighs on your total. A report alone removes nothing.
Leaderboards
Season and all-time, per score and overall. You can stay out of the public ones and see only your own numbers.
Seasons
Each season the leaderboard restarts from zero. Badges, points and history stay in your profile.
Prizes
At the end of a season the top three of every score receive partner prizes. Events run timed leaderboards with up to three prizes. Cleaning prizes match sending prizes.

Never climbed? A day with a guide.
Experiences are for groups: one rock, its story, a go on it with an instructor, a small cleanup. You enter with your guide’s code, no account. Within 48 hours you get the video of your climb and the rock’s card.

Questions
Before you head out.
I’ve never climbed outdoors. Can I come?
Yes. Cleaning Sunday is open to everyone and free: you clean a rock, eat together, and at the end of the day try a climb with people who know how to spot. Passing through with a group? There’s the guided experience.
There’s no signal on Etna. Is the app any use up there?
Yes. Download the sector before you leave and the map, rocks, photos and approach stay on your phone. Whatever you log up there sends itself when the signal comes back.
Can I go to every rock on the map?
No. Every rock has an access status: open, agreed with the owner, Park area with limits, forbidden. No rock is published before its access is verified, and coordinates never leave the app.
What does it cost?
Signing up is free and you can report rocks straight away. Logging sends and cleanups needs the club’s annual membership card, which includes insurance.
Where do the videos of my sends end up?
They stay private: only you, your witness and the graders see them. Rock photos, on the other hand, go into everyone’s guide.
